ACICS's Historical Archive for Private Career Colleges and Schools

The Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools [ACICS] offers an extensive archive of information of interest to historians.  ACICS traces it's roots to an organizational meeting held in Chicago in 1912.  The organization serves as an accreditor for private career colleges and schools.  The archives includes:

  • periodicals published by ACICS and predecessor organizations from 1921-2014

  • annual reports
  • membership directories from 1943-1999
