William Penn University (IA)

The Wilcox Library Digital Archives of William Penn University in Oskaloosa, IA offers an impressive collection of images and documents for those who are interested.

The archives also host a variety of images for the Mahaska County Historical Society and the Oskaloosa Public Library.

The collection includes copies of institutional histories and other college documents.  A .pdf and text version of  William Penn College: A Product and a Producer written by S. Arthur Watson is available.

You can also find the more recent, A Continuing Purpose:  A History of William Penn College, 1970-2000 written by John Wagoner.

Franklin College in Albany, OH


The Ohio Memory College includes the first catalog of Franklin College in Albany, Ohio.  The Meigs County Christian Cooperation purchased the Albany Manual Labor University that had previously been founded in 1851.  The institution was renamed Franklin College.  It later moved to Wilmington, Ohio in 1865 and was purchased by the Society of Friends to become Wilmington College.  The catalog includes information on institutional history, courses of study, and students.
