Knox College in Galesburg, IL hosts several pages devoted to the history of Lombard College that also operated in Galesburg from 1851 through 1930. There are links to an extensive timeline, a list of notable alumni that included Carl Sandburg, and an essay, "Remembering Lombard through Sandburg." Lombard's records are housed with Knox College.
Lombard's charter is still legally held by Meadville Lombard Theological School in Chicago. Tom Wilson of The Register-Mail newspaper in Galesburg wrote a brief historical sketch of Lombard on July 12, 2014, "Former Lombard College name is resurrected."
Kate Mishkin also wrote an article for The Knox Student later on November 14, 2014, "Last living Lombard College alumnus dies at age 104," reporting on the death of Ray Albert Truedson.
