Iowa Now offers an interesting article marking the retirement of Willard Lee "Sandy" Boyd Jr. He joined the University of Iowa faculty in 1954 and served as the 15th president from 1969-1981. He then served as president of the Field Museum in Chicago before returning to the university as a professor in 1996. The article includes a number of historical photographs and recaps significant changes in the campus during his years of service.
