History of Springfield College (MA)

Chris Theos wrote an interesting article for The Springfield Student on February 19, 2015 highlighting the presidents who have served the institution.

The institution has a number of changes in name since it was founded in 1885 as the School for Christian Workers.  The name was changed in 1890 to YMCA Training School and the International YMCA Training School one year later.  In 1912 it adopted the name of International YMCA College.  Then in 1954 the name was changed to Springfield College.

Springfield College maintains web page with links to an impressive array of historical resources. One of the pages includes links to seven texts on the institution's history from the Springfield College Digital Collection.
