Mike W. Thomas reported in the San Antonio Business Journal on February 2, 2015 that Hallmark College changed it's name to become Hallmark University. The institution was founded as Hallmark Aero-Tech in 1969 and was located at San Antonio's Stinson Municipal Airport.
Academic programs expanded over time to include business, allied health, information technology, and nursing. The name was changed to Hallmark College in 2007 and the institution completed a transition to non-profit status in 2013.
