Melanie Thibeault of The Valley Breeze authored an article indicating that Mater Ecclesiae College will be closing at the end of the academic year. Mater Ecclesiae was affiliated with the Legion of Christ and was founded in Wakefield, RI in 1991. The institution moved to Greenville, RI in 1998. The Providence Journal published an article on the likelihood of closure last month.
