Wesley College (Mississippi)

Mississippi's Clarion Ledger reports that Wesley College in Florence, MS will be closing.
The institution was founded in 1944 by the Congregational Methodist Church as Dallas Bible School. Otho Jennings served as the first Superintendent until August when W.E. Bruce was selected. Bruce served in the position until 1953.

The Congregational Methodist Church then acquired Westminster College in Tehuacana, Texas, from the Methodist Protestant Church and relocated the school to the site and adopted the name. Then in 1972, property was acquired in Florence Mississippi and the college was relocated to newly constructed facilities. In 1976 the name was changed from Westminster College to Wesley College. In 2004, Lance Sherer became president of the college.
