Establishment of the University of Akron

The Municipal University of Akron: A History of its Establishment is available through the Internet Archive in a variety of formats.  P.R. Kolbe compiled the booklet that includes almost forty pages of documents and  newspaper articles.

Buchtel College, founded by Ohio Universalists in 1870 was the predecessor institution and Kolbe served as Buchtel's president during the transition in status that occurred in 1913.
