Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe College Announces Name Change


Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe College announced a change in name effective August 15, 2022, they will now be known as Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe University. 


The institution was founded in 1982 as Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwa Community College to provide Anishinaabe communities with post-secondary and continuing education while advancing the language, culture, and history of the Ojibwe. 

LCOOC began offering bachelors degrees after 2018 and the name changed to Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe College in 2019.
