John Tyler Community College in Chester, VA will be changing its name to Brightpoint Community College. The name change was approved by the Virginia State Board for Community Colleges in July 2021.
Classes were first held on October 2, 1967, with 1,231 students and 85 faculty members. Over 10,150 students are currently enrolled and the institution employs 114 full time and over 300 part time faculty.
