Update: On March 28, the Board of Trustees voted to permanently close Becker College at the end of the current academic year. The College will provide academic, support and transitional services to students through August 31, 2021. Following an orderly transition, classes will not resume in the Fall.

The Worcester Business Journal reports on March 15, 2021 that "Becker, on cusp of potential closure, planning spring graduation but making contingency plans for students." Reporter Grant Welker also notes that the New England Commission of Higher Education and the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education issued a joint statement earlier in March indicating that the institution in unlikely to continue operations into the next academic year.

Leicester evolved to become a junior college in 1954 and in 1977 merged with what was then Becker Junior College of Business Administration and Secretarial Science.
