Trinity was founded initially in Tehuacana, TX and was affiliated with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The institution moved to Wexahachie, TX in 1902 and was affiliated with Presbyterian Church U.S.A. after merger of Cumberland Presbyterians with the larger denomination. It then moved to San Antonio in 1942 and merged with a Methodist institution, the University of San Antonio. Trinity first occupied its Woodlawn campus for ten years until a move to current Skyline campus in 1952.
