A statement was released today from Dr. Joseph L. Chillo, President of the Newbury College in Brookline, MA indicating that the institution will cease operations after the upcoming Spring 2019 semester. Newbury currently enrolls approximately 620 students.
Newbury College was founded in 1962 as Newbury School of Business. The name changed to Newbury Junior College in 1971. Holliston Junior College in Holliston, MA and the Boston branch of Bryant & Stratton were later acquired in 1978. Then in 1982, Newbury School of Business acquired the upper campus of the former Cardinal Cushing College and began consolidation of programs on this site in Brookline, MA. In 1985, the name was changed to Newbury College.
