Local historian and retired educator Steve Branting was honored in late June 2018 with the title of “Lewis-Clark State College Institutional Historian” by college president, J. Anthony Fernandez. Branting is an alum and is featured in an excellent video of the institution's history, "Definded by Perseverance," that is available for viewing on YouTube.
The Lewis-Clark State College Center for Arts & History will also offer an exhibit, “Town & Gown” 125 years of LCSC Campus and Community – an exhibit of celebration.” The exhibit will run from September 6th through October 27th at the Center, located in downtown Lewiston at 415 Main St. A series of lectures, film and panel discussions will be scheduled to coincide with the exhibit.
Lewis-Clark State College will hold a book sale and signing to celebrate a new book by the college’s Institutional Historian Steven Branting on the 125-year history of the college, called “The Words That Were Our Names: An LCSC Scrapbook,” on November 12, 2019.
