Finger Lakes Community College set to Celebrate 50th Anniversary

The Daily Messenger of Canandaigua, NY reports in "FLCC to mark 50 years with time capsule, art exhibit, book release," that Finger Lakes Community College will be celebrating its 50th anniversary on February 1st.  The college will host an event from 2:00 to 6:30 p.m. with a time capsule, availability of a new commemorative history book, and a gallery exhibit with works by art faculty members and their students.
The college began offering non-credit classes in 1967 and admitted its first freshman class on February 1, 1968.  It was initially known as Community College of the Finger Lakes.  The name changed to Finger Lakes Community College in 1992.  Classes are offered at seven locations with the main campus in Canandaigua, NY.

ThisBold Decision: The Story of Finger Lakes Community College, the 124 page college history, will go on sale for $18 and will be available online and in the FLCC bookstore. Copies will be sold in Canandaigua at the Chamber of Commerce, 113 S. Main St.; American Made, 143 S. Main St.; and Mobile Music, 163 S. Main St.
