The University of North Carolina Greensboro is celebrating the 125th anniversary of its founding in 1892. Initially established as the State Normal and Industrial School, it became the State Normal and Industrial College in 1897. The name changed to North Carolina College for Women in 1919 and to the Women's College of the University of North Carolina in 1932. The last name change to the University of North Carolina-Greensboro occurred in 1963.
