The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported on March 2, 2017 that Augsburg College will become a university with the beginning of the upcoming fall semester.
Augsburg was founded in 1869 in Marshall, Wisconsin and was the first seminary founded by Norwegian Lutherans in the United States. It moved to Minneapolis three years later in 1872.
