The New York School of Interior Design (NYSID) will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of the institution's founding with a number of activities scheduled throughout 2016.

The institution was initially founded as the New York School of Interior Decoration in 1916 by Sherrill Whiton.  The name changed to the New York School of Interior Design in 1951.

NYSID offers associate, baccalaureate, and graduate degrees with enrollment of 539 students in Fall 2014.  It is an accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design and is a candidate for accreditation with Middle State Commission on Higher Education.
