History of Kirkland College...a Coordinate College for Women

Limited Engagement Kirkland College 1965-1978: An Intimate History of the Rise & Fall of a Coordinate College for Women was recently mentioned on the College History Garden Facebook group.  I didn't know much about Kirkland College and thoroughly enjoyed Samuel Fisher Babbitt's account of the decision by Hamilton College to found the coordinate college.  Babbitt served as the founding and only president of Kirkland College.  Limited Engagement was published in 2006.  I thoroughly enjoyed Babbitt's approach and felt like I had opened a time capsule.  I encourage those interested to also check out a well-written review by John Sundman that was posted in 2008.
