Janel Davis reports for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on July 17, 2014 that Bauder College will be closing.
The Bauder College web site indicates that the institution was founded in 1964 as a single purpose, propriety institution with a focus on fashion merchandising. The College expanded its program offerings to include interior design in 1972, fashion design in 1975, and business administration with an emphasis in marketing in 1995. In 1999, graphic design was added, along with an emphasis in management for the business administration program. Information technology and criminal justice programs were added in 2002.
The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree program was added in 2004. The year 2007 saw the Institution adding a second Bachelor of Science degree program, in criminal justice. Then, in 2008, the Institution expanded its Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree program by including concentrations in accounting, fashion merchandising, and fashion product development. Also that year, the Institution rolled out a certificate program in computer support technician. Then in 2010, the Institution rolled out further new programs in Information Technology (BS) and Paralegal Studies (BS and AAS).
In 1992, Bauder College was purchased by Educational Medical, Inc (EMI). EMI changed its name to Quest Education Corporation in September 1998. Quest was purchased in July 2000 by Kaplan, Inc. In December 2002, Quest changed its name to Kaplan Higher Education Corporation.
