Marion College (VA)

New River Notes offers a brief history of Marion College by Goodridge Wilson, Jr., published by the Class of 1948 and the Alumnae Association for the Seventy- Fifth anniversary of the founding of the institution.  The college operated from 1873-1967 in Marion, VA.

Thomas W.West, the last president, also authored a history of Marion College that was published in 1970 just three years after the closing of the institution.  West's interesting account is detailed and appears to be an honest appraisal of the problems facing a two-year Lutheran institution in a small community.  The extensive appendices include lists of faculty, trustees, enrollment figures, and directory of former students.
