A New History of Salado, TX and Salado College

I recently had the pleasure of reading Salado, Texas: Frontier College Town written by Charles Turnbo. The author offers a very readable and well-documented history of the town and Salado College.  I would not hesitate to offer this book as an excellent example of...how to write about a college that closed...Turnbo's exploration of the dynamics associated with founding and operating a small frontier college is very good. There are also illustrations and extensive appendices that complement the text and they have drawn me back to the book from time to time in recent weeks.
