South Texas College of Law

Mark W. Lambert authored interesting articles available through The Fred Parks Law Library Footnotes Newsletter Online. Vol. 15, no. 1 includes a list of law books used in the curriculum of the Austin College Law Department which operated from 1855-1856 in Huntsville, Texas.


In South Texas College of Law and the Other YMCA Law Schools, vol. 15, no. 2, Lambert offers an overview of one institution in Houston that was affiliated with the YMCA. The article also includes a list of other YMCA affiliated law schools in the United States and an interesting list of additional resources in the Notes section.

Trinity University School of Law

The Houston Bar Association web site includes an article by Mark W. Lambert, The Trinity University School of Law, 1873-1878, and the Jurisprudence of Texas. Trinity University was affiliated with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and opened in September, 1869. Lambert offers a detailed description of the brief history and includes endnotes pointing to other resources.
